Each guide lists the counties and main cities, the health systems and what their own student pages say, the community health centers, and HRSA's primary care and mental health designations. It also notes the drive to Tyler, which matters for the FNP's OSCE days rather than for clinical hours.

Questions UT Tyler students ask
Do I need to train near Tyler?
No. UT Tyler's NP students train near where they live anywhere in Texas. Only the FNP's OSCE days and some campus activities bring you to Tyler.
Do big Texas hospital systems take NP students from UT Tyler?
Several publish a process for NP students, and some expect you to bring a preceptor who has agreed first. A few list UT Tyler among their schools. Each region guide describes what the systems' own pages say.
Can I do a clinical just across the state line?
No. UT Tyler requires every NP clinical hour to be completed in Texas, so a site in Shreveport, on the Arkansas side of Texarkana or in Oklahoma does not count.
How far is each region from Tyler?
Each guide gives a rough driving distance from Tyler, from about 40 miles to Longview to about 735 miles to El Paso. The figures are routing estimates, useful for planning trips to OSCE days.
